The Ohio Turnpike is a 241-mile toll road offering one of the safest, best and most convenient routes for motorists to reach east/west destinations along the northern corridor of Ohio. Be Safe Together: Move Over and Slow Down for Vehicles with Flashing Lights
Michael Oberdorf, an Ohio Turnpike assistant foreman, was setting up a work zone at milepost 124.6 westbound in Erie County when his work vehicle was struck by a motorist driving a pickup truck and trailer on June 21, 2024.
“My message to everyone is slow down and move over. Give us a chance to do our job. Eliminate distractions. Put your cell phones down. Pay attention,” said Oberdorf, who was sitting inside his vehicle during the crash. “As roadside workers, we want to get home safely just like our patrons.”
When approaching a vehicle with flashing lights on the side of the road, motorists are required by law to MOVE OVER and SLOW DOWN.

Who's the dumbass who came up with this idea? I don't want a transponder hanging on my windshield full time! I only use it 4-6 times a year.
This is totally unrealistic because our vehicles are our personal property and are not always used for private use, as my company does not pay for my transponder when I travel for work!
So, don’t use one.
Can you keep track of your EZPass transactions and submit your tolls for reimbursement when traveling for work? That's what I used to do. If not, you can easily remove the transponder and stick it back on later.
What if the transponder is mounted there and still sporadically doesn’t work? Seems to work about half the time. I’ve had it for quite a while. Do they get too old?
Yes. Replace after 8 years. It’s free, of course.
Your video does not show proper mounting of the transponder for cars with EyeSight technology. I asked at the BMV and placed mine where I was instructed.
We had the same in our Mercedes and had to place it within the tinted area in order to work.
I use mine on my motorcycle. Can be a challenge to mount behind my rear view mirror.
We have a Class C motorhome with the cab-over, and we have problems every single time with the transponder being detected. Where should we mount the transponder so that it works?
I don’t want this mounted on my windshield nor should I have to have it blocking any visual aspect out my windshield, they need to come up with something cause there’s no way I’m sticking this ugly crap on my windshield.
If it's placed properly you don't see it when you're driving.

We like to remove ours from view when not on toll roads. Why would you want it permanently mounted in clear view of would be criminals?

I have the original transponder I got 15 years ago it looks nothing like the one showing in the video. I have it mounted on the dash at the bottom of the windshield never had a problem with it there. How long do they last?

I can't believe people actually need a video to teach them how to peel off backing paper and stick the transponder to a windshield.
I actually just learned I had mine too high on my windshield since it's on some tint, so guess I need to take care of that.
